Originally released under BRK, the Signal Strobe series was used with the MA Series horns, PA400 mini horns, and as a standalone remote strobe. These strobes used model numbers starting with "SS".

History

The Signal Strobe series was released in 1987 as part of the Multi-Alert series. The original strobe was 1 candela and it was designed to be attached to a Multi-Alert sounder. There was also a patented filler that allowed it to be used as a standalone strobe. At this time, System Sensor also released the MP-SF to make the device mountable to both 4-inch square and double gang boxes, making the series a replacement for the Notifier NWS series.

In 1993, System Sensor replaced the 1 candela models with LO and M models, which outputted 1.5 and 15 candela respectively. Around 1994, System Sensor released the ADA models, which were UL 1971 compliant. Unlike the UL 1638 strobes, the ADA remote strobes did not have a separate filler device that could be removed to mount the device on a Multi-Alert sounder or V400 speaker. However, strobes that could be used for retrofits on sounders and speakers were released as the RK series.
