The Wheelock RS series is a series of non-synchronizable remote strobes with universal mounting plates.

History

The RS series was released in 1995 together with the RSP series as updated versions of Wheelock's ADA strobes. Like the ADA strobes, the original RS strobes were mostly vertically oriented with a horizontal 110 cd strobe. Unlike the HSW, the RS-24110-HFR had the same thickness as the other models, so the FIRE lettering was printed above and below the lens instead of on the sides.

The RS-2415 and RS-241575 were updated in 1997 to have a horizontal strobe with a similar design to the RS-24110-HFR. The other models were discontinued at this time due to the RSS having the same functionality, and these two models were discontinued in the U.S. between 1999 and 2000. The devices remained in production for ULC applications until the end of 2001.

Features

The original RS was a typical strobe that flashed once per second when given a continuous voltage. Depending on the model, the candela could be 15, 15/75, 30, 75, or 110, and all models except the 15/75 models could be ceiling mounted.

The second version of the RS was designed to be used as a wall-mount horizontal strobe, and it was only produced in 15 and 15/75 candela models for 24 volts.
