The Wheelock IS series is a series of 75 candela remote strobes and strobe plates. Combination strobes with IS strobes were also available.
History
The IS series was released around 1994 to meet ADA requirements while also functioning as a 60 candela strobe to meet NFPA brightness requirements.[1] Unlike the LSM, the IS could be ceiling mounted, but it did not support 12 volt operation.[2]
The IS remote strobes and strobe plates were phased out after the release of the RS and RSP, which were very similar. Combination strobes such as the MT-24-IS-VFR remained in production until the early 2000s, with the ET-1080-IS-24-VFR discontinued as late as 2004.
