The BG-12 series are the most recent series of pull stations manufactured by System Sensor for use by various companies owned by Honeywell under different model numbers. The BG-12 series replaced the later recalled BG-10 series in 1999. Today, almost 30 years later, BG-12 stations are very common and are still being made today. The addressable BG-12s also brought the introduction to Notifier and Fire-Lite's newest protocol, FlashScan and LiteSpeed respectively. The BG-12s are also fully plastic, moving away from the BG-10's design of a metal back and a plastic shell.

History

When the BG-12 series was first introduced, System Sensor and other companies currently owned by Honeywell were owned by Pittway. The first BG-12 pulls were branded by Fire-Lite, Notifier, ADT (who rebranded both the Fire-Lite Models directly as well as the Addressable Notifier pulls), Fire Control Instruments (FCI), and Johnson Controls. The Fire-Lite and Notifier addressable models had support for their new protocols with support for 159 devices per loop, but since FCI was still using CLIP on their newest panels and for the foreseeable future, the FCI addressable BG-12 pulls did not support any new protocols and the address wheels on them only went to 99. These first BG-12 pulls can be identified by the thinner font on the front, thinner label font, and say "PDI" on the inside label. There are also Notifier models that say "Notifier Fire Systems" and have a diffrent label font, those are uncommon.

Around the time Honeywell bought Pittway, they updated the BG12's, around this time, Honeywell also bought Gamewell, later merging the company with FCI. The new BG-12's had thicker font on the front, had a new font on the inside label, and changed the "PDI" label to "SSD" as System Sensor now started to manufacture the BG-12 series. There was also Gamewell models that had XP95A modules for use on the Gamewell panels with XP95A protocol[1], and the new Gamewell-FCI models had support for FCI's newest protocol: Velociti.

Around 2010, around the time Silent Knight started using SK protocol, the text "by Honeywell" was started to be placed under the logo. The ADT models stopped production when ADT stopped rebranding the Fire-Lite and Notifier panels, and mainly started to rebrand EST. At some point, Fike started rebranding the BG12's for use on their panels. At some point, the two Red dots on either side of the pull handle was removed on most models.

Around 2018-2020, the "by Honeywell" Text on the logo on the Silent Knight and Gamewell-FCI models was replaced with the Honeywell logo and was moved to over the SK/GFCI logo.
