The Gamewell Company was a large manufacturer of municipal fire alarm systems.

History

The Gamewell Company was formed in 1879. In 1962, Gamewell released the century. Which would be their most popular non-coded fire pull station. They used the design until the mid-2010’s

In 1982, Gamewell partnered with Cerberus in the marketing of the R-7.[1] In 1984, Gamewell joined the Cerberus group.[2][3]

In 1986 Gamewell would release their first addressable FACP, the FLEX-500A

In 1989, Gamewell introduced the INS-2.[4] Later that year, Cerberus Technologies merged Gamewell with Pyrotronics to form Cerberus Pyrotronics.[5]

In 1990, Gamewell was split from Cerberus AG and Cerberus Pyrotronics, becoming an independent company.[6]

In 1994, Gamewell introduced the 600 series with a new SmartStart™ autoprogramming feature.[7][8]

In 2003, Honeywell International acquired Gamewell, and in 2005, Honeywell merged Gamewell with Fire Control Instruments to form Gamewell-FCI.[7]
