The Wheelock 30 series is a series of electromechanical horns.

History

The 30 series was released in the late 1960s / early 1970s. There were a lot of different versions of these horns, with regards to how much current they took, some AC powered and some DC powered, and non-polarized and polarized models. Additionally, Wheelock offered two options to how the horns were wired up. Many devices had pigtail connectors, but some signals had screw terminals. Models with terminal connections had "T" in their model numbers. The most common model series were the 31/31T AC powered and 34/34T DC powered horns. But there were also these less-common model series: 32/32P, 33, 35, and 37. Between 1977 and 1979, strobe models with WS strobes were released as a 4-wire version of the 7000 series.[1][2]

In 1984, the grille was redesigned to be vandal resistant. About a year later, the 32, 33, and 37 models, along with all models with pigtail wires (including the 31, 34, 35, and 36) were discontinued.

Most products in the 30 series were discontinued in 1994 to shift support to the MT series. The 31T-115 AC horn remains in production for general signaling purposes.[3]
