The Cerberus Pyrotronics IXL was an enhanced version of the Gamewell Identifire Network System 2.

History

In 1990, Gamewell split from Cerberus Pyrotronics, leading to the INS-2 being supported under both brands. The IXL was later released as a panel compatible with both INS-2 devices and I series detectors through the use of a new ICon module, which could facilitate the transition from Gamewell equipment to Cerberus Pyrotronics equipment. Upgrade kits were also introduced to provide limited IXL functionality on INS-2 systems.

The IXL was discontinued in 1996 due to the release of the MXL-IQ, which had a similar device capacity while using the same equipment as the other MXL systems.
