From The Fire Panel

The Fire Panel Wiki is intended to be used by both professionals and enthusiasts alike, as such a high standard of writing should be upheld while creating or editing articles. While some topics or information may be of interest to enthusiasts, The Fire Panel Wiki should be restricted to only cover information regarding fire & life safety topics themselves, and not be used to disseminate information revolving around the community.

The English Wikipedia already provides a full fledged style guide, any topic not discussed on this page will take its standing from Wikipedia's style guide.

Article titles

Device Article titles

In the case of any device title including the device series the manufacturer must be displayed in front of the article title. Also if the article is for the entire series then you must include "series" at the end of the title.

In cases that the series name includes the word "series" like "L-Series" or "F-Series", the appropriate title would be something like System Sensor L-Series

Manufacturer Device "series" (if applicable)

Some examples that meet this style include:

  • System Sensor BG-12 series
  • Simplex TrueAlert series

Some examples that don't meet this style include:

  • B-Series panels from Bosch
  • Series of Wheelock's Multi-tone alarms

Infoboxes

All infoboxes must be invoked at the top of an article, this allows for the infobox to be displayed properly all all devices.

After the infobox is invoked content must start right after the }}. An example of this would be:

{{Infobox device
|title=Awesome device
}}Beautiful article content

Device infoboxes

This section involves any infobox invoked with {{Infobox device}}.

When using the device template on any series article do not include the series parameter, this parameter is used only for individual devices.
