SDI2

The SDI2 Bus is a addressable bus on modern Bosch panels which connects to system components, such as keypads, zone/output expanders, communicators, and wireless receivers. Each device is addressed with an address wheel. (Similar to System Sensor's address and AV selections) And every device type uses it's own address's. So for example, if you have 4 keypads and 3 wireless receivers, you will address the keypads 1-4, and the wireless receiver's 1-3 on the wheel, the system can tell the difference between the different device types. It's important to know that for some devices, the address wheel is sometimes used not for addressing the device but for selecting what kind of mode the unit will be in. SDI2 devices can be connected either hardwired directly into the SDI2 terminals, or with quick connecters, either with quick connect wires to connect in panel modules, or quick connectors and wire nuts.

Diagnosing faults with SDI2
R/PWR is Power Positive, Y is Data Positive, G is Data Negative, B/Com is Power Negative
The data voltage on a healthy SDI2 bus should be fluctuating between 6VDC-8VDC.[1]
The power voltage on the SDI2 bus should be the exact same as the AUX power (normally 13.79VDC-13.80VDC)
If you notice an SDI2 keypad is making a weird buzzing noise and is blank, this could be caused by a common wire being disconnected.
