The Pyrotronics system 3 is a conventional fire alarm panel manufactured by Pyrotronics

History/general information

The Pyrotronics System 3 is a conventional module based fire alarm panel

Pyrotronics cpv-90 shown installed in a church in California

that first hit the market in 1968 under the Pyr-a-larm brand (which was its own brand under Pyrotronics which intern was owned by baker industries). This was intended to replace the aging 50s era ZIU/FIU panels. Pyrotronics designed and built the first system 3s in 1968 these were fitted with the CP-30 control module and could handle an unlimited number of zu-35 zone modules with more or less modules added or taken from the system and could come in bilingual lettering (French) but exclusively for Canada . eventually some time around the 70s the CP-31 module was introduced with a slimmer design and separate power supply module. eventually in the 80s the CP-35 was introduced which went back to the bulkier cp30 design and required a battery charger module. this would be the final design used up until 2016. The system 3 never came with a voice evacuation option so an external Voice evacuation panel was required to be used with the system 3, this panel was the Pyrotronics cpv-90 voice evacuation panel. Originally a panel designed and built by the Canadian company electro-vox, Pyrotronics bought electro-vox which formed into Pyrotronics canada and all the parts and documentation were transferred over to Pyrotronics in the USA.

The system 3 has a bunch of different modules that could be used. Heres a list

Modules
module description
zu-35

zu-35ds/ts

the standard dual zone module for the system 3

could be ordered with a test switch or a disconnect switch

bi-35 battery extender module extends battery life?
sm-30 switch module, has two switches that can be set to do anything
mm-30 basically is an voltage meter
CZ-30 basically the cz-30 Counting Zone module is a module where you can

have 3 separate detectors do different things on one circuit.

ZH-30 basically a module that can allow 220vdc output to run the pyrotronics f3/5a and f5b
SR-32 just a relay module
PS-35 power supply module meant to be used on the cp35
BC-35 battery charger module meant to be used on the cp35
SA-30 alarm silence module
TL-30 designed to provide a

controlled time interval from 6 seconds to 10 minutes, after

which either a signal circuit is activated

RR-35 remote reset module, has a key switch meant for resetting the system
AE-30 nac module
SR-30 another relay module but the size of a regular module
RM-30U basic agent releasing module
HC-30 advanced agent releasing module with ckt disconnect
